[REVIEW] Ariul Watermelon Series, Serum & Cream

Hi All,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! This year has been a tough one, but hopefully we can still find joy and optimism to face 2021. This post will be my last skincare review in 2020. Hopefully there will new skincare products that is exciting to try.

I'm back after finally trying new skincare. This time it's Korean brand that has been around in Indonesia for around a year. It is their newest skincare product, Ariul Watermelon Hydro Glow Series. I purchased their serum and cream package that comes with cute watermelon pouch for Rp 245.000,- which is pretty affordable considering you got two full size Korean skincare product.

My first impression of the packaging is simple but cute. With pink bottle/jar and white stickers. However the packaging is quite sturdy. The serum comes with a pump at the top of the bottle that makes it easier to measure how much product you want to use. The cream have an inner lid, which makes it more air-tight. However they don't give you any spatula so be sure to clean your hands well before applying skincare.

The Serum texture is quite interesting. In my opinion, it is borderline watery and gel consistency. It takes a quite some time to absorb, but it does not feel sticky. However the fragrance is really strong! It smells like watermelon candy, strong sweet smell. Personally I got no problem with fragrance so it does not really affect me. For those who are sensitive to fragrance, please take note of this before trying out this product.

The cream itself is pretty standard texture wise. Just like normal cream. Not a super easy to absorb cream but it is not a super thick one. The unique feature of this cream is the micro beads which they claim to be watermelon extract. It kinda melts in your skin and merge in with the cream when you apply it on your skin. It has the same smell with the serum so beware fragrance sensitive people!

I have used these products for almost a month and I think these product does give a good moisture for your skin. It works really well especially if you apply hydrating toner before using the serum and cream. I think it will be suitable for those who have dehydrated skin. However, aside from giving a good moisture for your skin and make it a bit plumper, I don't see any changes in my skin. So I guess their main job is just to maintain your skin moisture level.
